About Us

Our history

Located in the historic center of Alhama de Granada, which, like the old houses in Cuenca, hangs from the impressive Tagus, the gateway to the Sierra Tejeda Almijara y Alhama Natural Park. We wanted our house to have the apparent simplicity of seguiriya singing and the warmth of the old grandmothers` houses, and for this we have respected the original white floors, wood and walls, the wood smelling of wax, the impressive stone walls of the Tajo and natural cotton in the fabrics. La Seguiriya is a family business dedicated to accommodation, gastronomy and rural tourism.

We have six rooms, each one with different features and with names of songs by Seguiriya. In every corner of the house you will find a piece of our family history, old farm objects, works of art, photographs and Andalusian crafts.

The terrace is the most special area of the house. A spectacular balcony overlooking the Tagus from which you can see the Natural Park, the Tagus and the old flour mills while you enjoy the silence only interrupted by the sound of birds and the Marchán river that passes just below. We have filled it with plants so that in the summer it is cool and so you can enjoy the dishes from our restaurant or simply sit in the chill-out area to rest. It is especially beautiful to observe from the terrace the color changes of the landscape at sunset, the moon and the passing of the seasons.

In the old stables of the house is the dining room-restaurant. The temperature in this room is constant all year round, the coolest area of the house in summer due to the fact that it is a cave excavated in the stone of the pit, with vast walls that maintain the air conditioning naturally. The ceiling woods with original beams, wood from the s. XVIII and on its walls you can find multiple works of art donated by a good group of drawing, painting and pottery artists. In addition, in this space our guests have at their disposal a corner to prepare a tea or infusion at any time.
